maybe buying a 6.7

I was wondering if I should get a new 6.7 cummins 4x4 2500 quad auto. They are giving me a 10000 off msrp and a little more than I owe on my trade. They are giving me a great deal but I am worried about the 6.7 and the new auto. Never own a auto but it drove real nice if felt like it had a lot of power. I wondering about all the new emission on the truck is going to give me a lot of trouble down the road or should I just keep my 5.9 with 44000 miles on it.

Still some 07 5.9's out there yet. Why mess with success?? That's what I'm looking at now - an 07 5.9. They're giving me $10k off the sticker, can you believe $50k for a pickup truck, and a great trade-in price that I might not be able to pass up on.

KEEP YOUR CURRENT TRUCK! You have a 2005 with 44K on the clock and your thinking of getting a new truck???
Does your current truck do what you bought it for (tow your trailer(s), carry heavy stuff in the bed)???
If so, stop looking at the new trucks and pay off your current one and enjoy it for many years to come.
My truck is 10 1/2 years old with rust all over it and it still works fine towing my trailers and hauling wood.
Forget the shinny and new until you really need to purchase another new or late model used truck.
Don't you want to have a few years without truck payments?

Just keep in mind that all the guys with the brand new trucks all shinny and new zipping around are dooling out $700+ a month for that "new truck feeling".

I know I should keep my truck but my payment drop about $80 dollars a month I really don't use my dually as much a 3/4 ton would work fine now and they are offer for $579 oil changes for life of the truck every 3k miles. It a hard decide on if I should cause I like both truck and that new auto nice but I love my 6 speed too.

But that $80 a month payment drop is spread over how many years? I guarantee you will not be saving a single penny at the end of your contract.

If it were me...I would at least wait for the 2008's to hit the lots first. Isn't that usually around Sept - Oct? That's only 6 - 7 months away. If you still have the new truck bug by then, you might be able to make an even better deal with the crossover to the new model year in play. In the meantime, your 2006 isn't going to depreciate much more than it already has and you may be able to work an even better deal on a left over 2007 or spring for the 2008 if it's better. Nice to have those kinds of choices!

Then again, that new truck bug may just crawl back under the carpet of your 2006 and lie dormant until you can pay off that 2006 by driving it longer. At 44k it's hardly broken in and one of the last series of EGR-free 5.9's built.

Im in the market for a new truck too,,, Im kinda torn right now. I really like my dodge that i have, and will keep it. I am very keenly awaiting the new 6.7, but I am more than a little worried about all the smog stuff on it. I can get a 07 duramax that honestly will do everything that I need it to do, for considerably less,,,, but it isnt a dodge,,, it really is a tough decision,, as for financing it is a wash, both 0% for 60 months.. suggestions?
