Glühwein- Jagatee and maybe some other alcoholic assaults from the alps!
As promised: Glühwein recipe:<br><br>Classic: <br>1 quart red wine - (preferrably dry)<br>1 or 2 oranges<br>sugar <br>cinnamon powder or piece<br>cloves (whole)<br><br>Peel oranges and cut into cubes of about 1/2 " . Bring to boil with the red wine in a covered pot. Add sugar and spices till it tastes sweet and aromatic. Let boil shortly and stir. Let rest for some minutes. Strain and serve hot.<br><br>Some more to follow....

Alternatives:<br><br>If you prefer white wine change recipe like that: dry white wine, no oranges. Same procedure as in classic recipe, add some ginger..<br><br>more to follow

Alterntive- Leoben students edition....<br><br>Attention..... nothing for beginners!! <br><br>Recipe for 8 people....<br><br>10 qts dry red wine with 4 pounds of peeled and cut oranges, 2 lemons( peeled and cut) let boil really short. Add sugar and spices for the gusto (must be very sweet). let boil shortly. Add 2 qts of 80% rum, serve hot and call the ambulance before you start drinking.<br><br>more to follow

Jagatee- cold weather antifreeze with good effects. de-ices about anyone.<br><br>1/3rd Cognac<br>1/3rd Schnaps (alcoholic distillate about 50-60% made of fruits)<br>1/3rd red wine <br>Heat and apply teabag, add sone cinnamon, and lots of sugar.... <br>Serve hot.<br><br>Do not even think of driving after the last two recipes. Man, I'm not a wine drinker but those recipes sound really, really good! I like those foo-foo sweet drinks, usually composed of ice cream and a few squirts of a liquor or two...

Something maybe for Java:<br>Rum Cow<br><br>Take a softdrink glass.<br><br>1/2" of coco sirup<br>1" rum 38%<br>fill up til about 1" under the top with milk<br>stir<br>Add whipped cream and dress it up with coco flakes- <br>Drink chilled<br><br>AlpineRAM

Alpine,<br>Thanks for digging up the recipe. Printing it off now. Cider is pretty good warmed up with cinnamon too. You can add any alcohol you like. But, if I remember right, your cider is just apple juice, not quite the same.<br>Don <br>
