long idling with 6.7

i haul cattle quite a bit and alot of times i sit at the sale barn for 30 min to a hour waiting to get load and i usually let all of our trucks idle when waiting in line expessially in the winter time and was wondering now with the new 6.7 i bought will i be able to do that since i have deleted the dpf without causing anything to mess up? thank you

My understanding is ideling a diesel (750+/-) was bad, can gum everything up. but if you high idle it, you can sit there all day @ 1100 -1500 rpm, is your 6.7 a auto or Manuel, you might have the high idle enabled already try to pres on, then set, on your cruse control and it might/should idle up to 1100 then u can use accell to go up to 1500, I always high idle my truck

Your best bet IS to get the manual high idle enabled.

yeah, i agree wth the above posters. you said you have deleted the dpf right? if so, then that will be a HUGE +. go ahead and do the high idle mod, and you'll be set. you never want to idle a diesel for extended periods and not have the motor running warm. you'll get wetstacking and carbon buildup, due to not high enough temps to combust all the fuel. search through my posts for the high idle mod on a manual transmisson 6.7. i have written about it to many times. it'll be easy to find.

You got it. high idle feature + DPF delete = idle as long as you want.

Hi Guys,

How would I mod this feature with an A/T? My knees are too bad for a clutch these day!

With an automatic, you just need the dealer to activate the feature. You don't have any wires that need grounding to get the high idle feature to work.
