It seems I am fortunate , so far... Maybe there needs to be a thread for the "few" of us that are happy with our Dodge built Cummins 6.7 powerered trucks.(no offense). My(guess) thoughts are the issues are arising from the instrumentation feeding info to the ECM. Or maybe youre not getting the ULSD fuel you think you are.

Be thankful you have a good one! I wonder if it is ULSD fuel every time I fill up. I don't know why,it says ultra low sulfur on the little sticker on the pump. Why would they lie?????????????? I know it better be ultra low something for the price they charge. It's not made of milk!

Cuminapart - you can only get ULSD at fuel pumps in Canada since Jan 2007. In the US I an extremely diligent in getting the ULSD. You can also tell if you ran LSD by looking at your fuel filter. I change mine every 10 Miles.

I was lucky that my DPF was not the problem that it was the rag the tech left in the intake.

With no warranty it would have been hard. Yes I saved 17,000 buying in the States but that was not the point. It is a US business and I bought 4 of them and was told I would be covered.

Yeah I was told that too. I would have warranty. Its not just in Canada...its void in USA and CANADA...Dodge has what I call a pathetic business manner nowadays. Even the dealers in Canada say that...the price gets adjusted but its still 5-6K higher and they are not able to do warranty on these USA trucks...which equates to a bit more $ in their pockets. Oh well live and learn.

The warranty only becomes Void when the truck is registered in Canada as stated in the Dodge warranty book that comes with all Dodge trucks. That is unless it was or has been approved for export to Canada by DC now Chrysler through an authorized Dodge dealer. BTW not all dealers are authorized to get a truck approved for export.

I'd say that the Rag in the Intake is a bit surprising , but it is good you found it before it caused any more trouble. Don't think the DPF system dosen't have me worried as well, but touch wood , (head) , so far so good. I do like the absence of diesel fuel odor these new trucks have though. I was a lead on the startup team of the first ULSD production facillity in Canada (Feb 06) so I am fairly aware of when ULSD was available in Alberta at least. I cant speak for Ontario though. Unfortunately what a dealer says and what it does seems to be different everywhere. This would be one of those (Market Place) moments where you would wish for that statement in writing. All my experience has taught me is to document everything , you never know when you might need it.

I'f all people were Honest , Lawyers would be broke!

I live in Victoria with a US truck. I took it in for some warranty work and the dealer was not going to work on it until I told him I was US Navy, and since then they have been great. It seems there are exceptions (lucky for me)

That issue with your headlights flickering when it is cold out is most likely the grid heaters cycling in the intake area to warm that incoming air to the engine. The grid heaters go on and off every few seconds until the truck is warmed up and they draw alot of amperage.

ALL of the Dodge/Cummins Trucks have done that since they have been built. Not trying to change you mind, just to let you know about it.

Our 1998 durango's fog lights went off and on when we drove through Canada; it only happend when the temp dropped below @ or about -30.
