Headlights flickering is NORMAL, it's the grid heaters cycling!

I did two Ford Mustangs in Fla.. It didn't take no time really, but they don't just trade you up even for another vehicle. They treat it like you traded a new vehicle back in, you eat depreciation for your miles, which I feel is wrong. It cost me 4K to get into a new car both times. I tried to explain most of the miles was going back to the dealer, but that didn't work to well, they shaft you anyway. I'll walk before I deal with Ford again.

Well , they don't actually flicker , they just go dim when the grid heaters cycle..........also if you watch your amp meter it will drop and then go back up.......this will correspond with the headlights dimming and brightening.......hope that explained it well enough.

Warranty probably not cancelled just not honored in Canada you just have to drive BACK across the border for repairs under warranty. With $13k or so in savings you got enough for a hotel room while its being worked on.Drive same truck into Mexico.Same deal and they BUILD them there but don't even SELL your model truck there.

That issue with your headlights flickering when it is cold out is most likely the grid heaters cycling in the intake area to warm that incoming air to the engine. The grid heaters go on and off every few seconds until the truck is warmed up and they draw alot of amperage.

ALL of the Dodge/Cummins Trucks have done that since they have been built. Not trying to change you mind, just to let you know about it.

Thanks John P. I did not know that, and neither did the dealership! If that was the only problem it would change my mind. I've driven a few Duramaxs and there is no comparison in the power and ride of the Dodge. I'm just plain fed up with weekly trips back to the shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, hopefully it wont take to long.I'm going to take a big hit, my milage is 18500. I've been real lucky with my Mustangwhen I drive it I drive it hard. It is stock except for the exhaust. Flowmaster 40s axle back.

Not many friends huh......
Well , you could trade it in ( U would lose less as it was bought cheaper) on some other brand. Or you could make the pilgrimmage back to the selling dealer for warranty. Or continue to look for sympathy here, and begin the lobby for a Canadian Lemon Law...I'm sorry for your luck.

There , hows that. Friend.

Thats pretty goodNot looking for sympathy just some advice and a little venting! I am doing the warranty thing each and every flippin week Trade in sucks,I will break even if I do.I will go that route as a last resort. I'm trying to avoid that for I don't want that lemon to end up in some poor guys driveway. And for the Canadian LEMON LAW I understand why the void your warranty, but it's still crappy!

Mineral gray must be a cursed color

Your attorney will do all the hard work, all you have to do is keep in touch and take the truck to the dealer as many times as you possibly can. The more problems, the more times they don't fix them, the more ammo you have. Document everything in writing. Dealer tells you they can't fix it? Make them write it down.

I started proceedings in November, demanding a repurchase. Timeline of Chrysler's responses:

December: we aren't going to give you anything
January: we aren't going to give you anything
February: we'll give you $4,000 if you go away

My attorney wanted to make things easier on himself and settle for $4,000. I told him we will not be done until the truck is gone. Either way, very rarely do these cases go to court. If you don't reach an agreement, a court date will be made, and 9 times out of 10 they will settle before the court date. If I do end up in court, both parties will be free to walk outside and observe my MIL firsthand.

My local dealer messed up bigtime and put IN WRITING that they will not work on the truck under warranty. Took it back to the selling dealer, who verified IN WRITING that the MIL came on a mile after having it cleared. This should be some good ammo. Chrysler received this information after the $4,000 offer, which should finally get me somewhere.

This is a long and drawn out process, hang in there. We as consumers need to fight for our rights and tell Chrysler we will NOT tolerate paying good money for an inferior truck, if they sell us a lemon we WILL get our money back. I have read of more 6.7 lemons in the last 6 months than I have 5.9 lemons in my entire history of dealing with Dodge trucks. Chrysler has to know something is up, we aren't suing them for our own entertainment.

Part of me is really sad that I will very likely never buy a new Dodge truck ever again. It will be interesting to see the first 5.9 swap in an '07.5+ truck.

Problem was a blocked air intake!

I'm with ya' hot tempered! I own 4 of these things, and contrary to Cuminapart's point of view, 3 of the 4 have warranty. I own a US business and bought all 4 in the US but unfortunatly live in Canada - followed the law and registered it where I live and lost warranty.

Have problems with the DPF's on the 1 of the "warranty eleigable" units also. On my 4th in it now....

Brake lights didn't work for the first 3,000 miles I drove the truck, got pulled over for it, 8 or 9 trips back for MIL, fuel economy (8MPG)

Hot Tempered - 3 of the 4 2007's are 6.7's the "good" one is a 5.9. the main dieffence other than the problematic DPF is the lousy fuel mileage with the 6.7's vs. the 5.9's
