K&N air flter

I've found that the K&N air filter for a 2004 Dodge SRT will drop right in the stock air filter box on a 6.7. It's an 1/8 of an inch bigger in one measurement, but it fits no problem. Cheap power for anyone interested.

Hold your K&N up to the light and tell me what you see. In mine, I seen little bitty holes.

I held my K&N up to the light and dropped it in the dumpster. Now I've got a Nanofiber...

Think these guys are trying to tell you to get rid of your K&N. They let too big of particles through and it's bad on your Cummins!!!

According to K&N's web site, there filter obtane a 98% filtration rating against dust particles as small as 5.5 microns. Thats pretty good if you ask me. There good enough for ALL Indy cars.

I have a K&N myself, and I'm not really arguing for it or against it, but I will say one thing about the Indycar statement. They are only expecting to get about 500 miles out of their engine! I have had 0 problems with my K&N and intend on keeping it, other than that, a lot of people have opinions.

I must apologize if I make anyone think that K&N makes a bad filter. In my area we have alot of winds that move some dust and alot of road construction, so I have to keep a close eye on the air filters. My opinion is that there is better technology in air, fuel, and oil fiters these days, and K&N is good, but not the best for my situation. I like the fact that I now have an airfilter that filters better, flows as much if not more, and I don't have to wash it out and re-oil it.

I've personally seen a K&N suck full grains of sand through it..

If you are mainly on road, it's probably fine, but use your truck in dusty conditions and I'd suggest checking into it a bit..

K&N has been on my gas vehicles for years with no problems, but they don't suck in the air it takes to boost 45 lbs either. Put a K&N on my 05 before I knew better. 5k miles and it was still clean. Took the filter off and sure enough there was dirt in the tube. Switched to AFE PG 7 and no more problems. As far as websites go, I can say anything I want on a website. That doesn't mean it's true. I continue to run K&N on two trucks I own, but there will NEVER be one on a diesel I own. Just my .02.

I think this is one of the biggest debates I have seen. I had k&n on my powerstroke, I cleaned and oiled it every 3000 miles when I changed oil and the fuel filter everytime. I had no problems with the engine what so ever, with 97k when I got rid of it. I personally have had no problems but a lot of people have, so it is a use at your own risk product, good for some bad for others its a personal opinion

I think that there is a big difference in the amount of boost you are running in relation to how well it filters. A powerstroke does not boost what a 3rd gen cummins does. 1st and 2nd gen cummins do not boost what 3rd gen do.
