just bought a new 07 6.7

so i just got a new truck and i love it. its a six speed with 373s 4 door short bed loaded 4x4. do you guys have any sujestions or any important info i should know about. oh and i wanted to know what rpms you six speed guys run on the highway at 60mph. before i bought it i said i want the 02 sensor deal replaced due to a recal well they put the new flash in at the same time. i got to 100 miles the check engine light comes on so i turn around an go home. i took it into the dealer today they said that it was another falty module so they replaced it in about 10-15 min and apologized and sent me on my way. so tonight at 150 miles light comes back on and im only getting 14-15mpg on the highway at 60. what do you guys think??

Sounds like you bought a 6.7 lol.. Uhm.. What codes are you throwing ? You can check by turning the key on and then off 3 times in a row.. it will show the codes on the cluster where your odometer is. This will also clear all non-active codes/turn the check engine light off if they arent active. Mileage sucks on these new ones.. I'm only getting 12-14 unloaded on the highway.. i have a lift and bigger tires tho..

my check engine light came on also, 3000 miles, I just went out and tried the key trick and no code came up? Does it work on the 2008?

With the 6spd manual I was at about 1800 at 60. I put 285 tires on it and had the speedo recalibrated and now it's about 1700 at 60. The fuel mileage is a toss up with these. Some guys are getting 18 to 19, and some are getting worse 14 to 15 like you say. Mine is about in the middle around 16 to 17, but I didn't buy it for fuel mileage. I bought it to pull my trailer and because that's what I wanted. It is a 7500 lb rig that pushes a lot of air around it. It is kind of funny though the first gens get better mileage with worse aerodynamics, but they are also 160 hp stock and not nearly as comfortable. These guys that say they are getting 23mpg consistently I don't think are telling the truth. Maybe every now and then but not always. Give it some time, get some more miles on it and it will come up. I've only got 2900 miles on mine and it's slowly getting better.

I have a similar 2007 quad cab with the 6sp manual. I'm sorry to say I also have had repeated check engine lights - most often P2000. It seems like Cummins and Dodge released the 6.7 without enough validation testing. Definitely a problem child.

P2000 should be fixed with the O2 Sensor Module Recall, and the AU flash.. Take your truck in and get it done, if you havent already. Should fix your issue.

I had the recall done yesterday (dealer didn't have the parts before) but I don't expect it to fix the P2000 problem. The recall info doesn't mention anything about P2000. I'm hoping for the best but I've read some threads where Cummins is going to come out with yet another reflash for it. BTW I couldn't tell any difference in the way the truck runs.

I'm also doubtful that the G30 will improve gas mileage. You'd think Dodge would brag about it if it did. I have a baseline over the past 3 tanks (hand calculated) and I'll know for sure once I run a couple tanks through it. I'll be the first to eat crow if the mileage jumps but I'm not holding my breath.

My dad bought a 6.7 and they already are having to design a new exaughst manifold because the turbo is clauging up.... and my brothers 6.7 bent a push rod and droped a valve within the first month...and they both had sensores mess up because they lost the memory.

Mines been great, but sounds like some are having problems. I think Cummins and Dodge should be able to fix these problems. Go look at Dieselplace.com they are having problems as well and many are going into limp mode while driving. I'm glad the Dodge trucks don't go into limp mode while diving. We pay too much $$$ for these trucks to have these types of problems IMO.
