Idle engine picth change

Hey guys. Quick question. Wwhen my truck sits for 6.7 say 30 seconds. Makes a noise change. Not quite idle up. Kinds like exhaust brake. Also. I have perform service sign on and manual says that crank case filter needs changed. Can that fall off?

Crankcase breather filter is changed at 67K, on Chrysler's dime the first time. Most likey noise is EGR valve opening and closing or EGR cooler bypass valve closing. It will make a noticeable engine noise change. To reset light key on step on brake twice then gas pedal twice turn off key. To reset oil change light, key on step on gas pedal three times to the floor and turn off ign. key.

Every vehicle that I have ever owned changes pitch not long after starting and again after full warm up. It's normal.

Never thought Chrysler would pay for the change?

Unfortunately Chrysler would not go good for my CCV change... $178.00 just for the filter at the dealer, or $72.00 at Cummins. I did it myself, easy to do with 1 to 2 beer and lots of looking around under there...

Blake, I changed mine at 65,000 miles. It was dirty, but no oil dripping back into the turbo. Very easy job to do.

I figured it wouldnt be all that bad. I think I saw somewhere that you can just vent it to atmosphere and plug the turbo inlet. May look into that.

Idle change is normal, especially if you have the newer updates. They use change in fueling and turbo settings to keep the exhaust and engine temps up to prevent excessive sooting.
