I filled my truck up Sunday and to it would hold anymore fuel and it said 493 miles to empty . Today i have 234.1 miles on the trip and I'm at half tank I doubt I'll get 500 to this tank though . It took 54 mile for it to get from behind full my 2002 use get to 100 or so before It would off full strange . I was wondering what everybody else was seeing ?

I know I have a 5.9, but I got 376 miles today, all freeway with the cruise at 75. Almost at E, 30.113 gallon fillup. Less than 12.5 mpg. My overhead is off by 75-100 miles when full. Of course, it thinks it's getting 14mpg.

You 6.7 guys don't have it that bad after all, eh?

John,

Let's do a little brainstorming and figure out what to do about that mileage! Man, that hurts.

my 99 would go almost 100 miles before the fuel gauge would get below E then plumet like a rock. This new truck goes off almost instantly but is much more even aross the tank.
I still have not gotten much hwy miles but I am getting just over 400 miles till I fill up. I have never hit the low fuel light yet (gotta try it and make sure it works) because I hate dropping over a hundred to fill it

I just had my best tank since i owned the truck(just over a year.) Had the edge set on Lvl 2 and put 612 klm(383 miles) highway @ 120klm/h(75 mph), and then got another 335 klm(210 miles) of city driving before my light came on. Thats a total of 947klm(592 miles) and still had a little more to go. I was totally stoked. So far on this tank ive put on 405 klm(253 miles) and burnt up just under half. Mostly back roads driving. I just Broke over 60,000 klm(37,500 miles) as well a couple of weeks ago so i dont know if its just getting broke in or what? But its a nice time to get a break on fuel consumption as Diesel is strating to rise again!!

If 12.5 is all your getting something is wrong! I've never heard of a 5.9 getting that bad of fuel mileage.

I just did a hand calculation on the fuel mileage on my rig. Much to my surprise, I'm getting just over 16mpg with probably 70% city driving. I'm thinking this is pretty darn good, considering she's only got about 15,000 miles on her so far. I probably won't see maximum fuel mileage till about the 50,000 mile mark so I'm darn happy!

I got about 530 miles on my last tank. I have the 35 gallon tank. About 70% of that tank was between 60 and 65mph on the highway. My tank averaged 16.86 hand calculated. I have about 2500 miles on the truck.

Me neither. I'm a little annoyed, losing a solid 5 miles per gallon from my '03, city or highway.

Here are my last three tanks:

Gal Miles Price Place MPG
27.2 358.8 $3.399 Chevron 13.2
25.1 290.2 $3.659 Chevron 11.6
31.5 385.6 $3.759 Chevron 12.2

There's also another tank that I referred to above. Prior to the lift (with stock rubber) I was averaging 12.9-15.2.

I need to do my trans soon, as this mileage is grating on me. I'd rather have a Power Wagon at this point! Well, not really. Nothing beats a Cummins.

Trans and Smarty first, then some sticks and a cam, I think...

Blackstone seems to think everything's fine, but I'm waiting on my last sample to come back.

300-350 @ 1/2 tank and needle, on E should be 590 - 650. If it's 650 that's 22mpg and that makes me happy.
