Actually, I wouldn't mind buying a new Ford F450. Very nice truck but I'm going to wait a few years more and see how the Megacab is working out.

Another thing to think about:

I bet before too long Toyota will be getting into the 3/4 and 1 ton pickup markets. They're kicking butt now in the half ton category and the heavy duty market is just as robust.

And you can bet they'd have a diesel option, be priced right and be built to last.

Patience is a virtue in this case.

A buddy of mine sold his new F450 after 4 months, couldn't afford the fuel, it got 8mpg loaded or not, said he couldn't make any money
hauling like that.He bought an 06 3500 Ram instead.

5900 miles as of today. 2008 bought in Oct '07. I have never had a CEL or other system warning light on her. Never even been back to the dealer since buying her.

Outpulls my slightly modified "01. Gotta love the engine and trans. combination. This truck really shows it stuff when pulling a trailer load.

Ooh!! Almost forgot, 12.3 around town, 11-12 towing and 15-15.7 HWY

6500 miles and back to the dealer only for recall. No issues except fuel mileage (compared to my old 7.3). Last highway trip was over 1000 miles and I got 17.5 hand calculated. At 2000 miles, I was getting less than 16 hand calculated. If this continues, I'll be draining off fuel in a few years.

Incorrect. The 6.7 is already 2010 emissions compliant. Ford and Chevy will need to make some changes, however.

8956 miles Runs great. Had problems with EGR and O2 recall...Since recall nothing. I use the EB all the time. Non-towing fuel milage not too good at 13.5 average...Total highway is high 15's.

14,500 miles on my 07.5. Engine had a very slight oil leak at he front which has since been repaired successfully. The main situation has been the CEL being lit more than it's off. I have a scan tool and the same thing comes up each time: P2262, having to do with turbo boost not being detected. Occasionally, an O2 sensor problem will surface although the G30 flash was performed about a month ago. The dealer hasn't been successful in fixing the situation. Frankly, I believe they're waiting for DC to come out with a real fix rather than just performing these band-aid fixes which don't last. Other than that, I love the truck not only as a daily driver but as a tow machine for my 30' fifth wheel (I fulltime).

When I went to talk to the tech at the dealership where my 04.5 was services and asked about the 6.7 he sait the same motor different crank and bore and added emmissions he felt it was just as good as the 5.9 most of the he had seen was fuel related but they still fix the truck anyway it was not the customers falt if the truck had to have USLD and the pumps were marked wrong or was not avalible in the area, after all it is a 50,000 truck customer should not haft to worrie about this things would get better as USLD takes over the market. I traded because I got a deal I coun't pass up 28 for my 04.5 and winded walking away owing 28. He also said that you can run diesel Kleen for USLD and it will help with regen and also if you get the wrong fuel.
I now have 7000 miles and zero problems but still wonder am I just lucky or just carfull.
