How long to desoot?

Ok I have a 2008 3500 mega cab pretty much stock except for a afe air intake. I added a edge insight so I can slowly start getting rid of all the emisions crap. Today I drove it for the first time after adding the insight and about a hunderd miles into the trip it starts flashing "regen soot" wich was ok at first but it stayed on for 12 miles I finnaly pushed enter a couple of times because I was tired of listening to it!!! How long does it normally take to de soot? I was driving 80mph I thought it would de soot faster but maybe not? The truck only has 40000 miles. Please give me some info!!!

Tonight, mine took a half an hour to go out after it said "regeneration required", I have the BA flash. Really ticks me off. I have a business to run and the flippin truck makes me take it for a ride on the highway instead of making money (I'm thinking of charging dodge for my lost income). After next Thursday, my "regeneration required" notices will go away. Thats when I'm installing the smarty junior ME and the delete kit.

Take that California!!!!

I have been doin so readin on here, when it goes into "soot" mode should I down shift to raise the RPM's? Will that burn the soot faster?

One more thing I was thinking When I was driving I would start climbing a long pass and it would shut off the "soot" mode towards the top, but I assume that is because of the egt's? because as soon as the truck would cool down it went right back to the "soot" mode. This truck is not a daily driver it either has a 40' toyhauler attached to it or a 4 place atv trailer. Any Help?

At 80 mph my truck requires 14 minutes to de-soot/regen and does this every 250 miles (aprox) running empty and (aprox) 300 working hard. Working hard or running easy, empty,70-80 mph it still took 14 minutes everytime.
I have and insight and just ran 6k miles and thats what I found.

My desoot issues have gone away since installing my revertible egr and dpf deletes and installing the Smarty jr ME. One of the best mods I've done to my truck. The engine runs soooo nice now (stock horsepower tune). Its like having a all new truck again. Amazing.
