I wouldn't hold my breath. It's cheaper and faster on the assembly line the way they do them now plus people cry about having to lock them in.

I agree on the cheaper part but, would still love to have the option! I read that people who install manual hubs, in their new trucks, get between 1.25-1.5 mpg better economy. That would be worth the hassle alone.

As far as installing the switch, like the other poster, that is no longer an option since late 02' when they got rid of the center axle disconnect for simplicity and strength.

How much to change over to manual hubs? I wish I had that. There are times I need low range but not 4x4.

The best thing to do is just take off your front drive line, put it under your seat. Then when you really need it put it back on. Thats a joke

I am researching/searching for a "2LO" mod for a 2007 and have come up with nothing so far.

When that thing was smoking that organic stink I was thinking about converting my Unimog's Ringleder hitch to a receiver type like so:

http://www.dansunimogs.com/unimogtrailerhitchs.htm

The Mog has 8x2 gears for both fwd and reverse in 2w,4w or 4wLock with the lowest equivalent to 300 FEET/hr! It also tops out about 55mph on level ground on a good day so that is out.

Sure would like a "2Lo".
