Getting my 1st 3rd gen

Is any year model that is considered "better" or good, or else ?

I am looking to get my 1st 3rd gen truck and I am looking at all the options

It all depends on what you want in a truck. I'm on my third 3rd gen..
If you want fuel mileage(who doesn't) then the 03 and early 04s are great. If you want to make some huge power then an 04.5 through 07 5.9 CTD will be great. If you haul a lot of people then a Megacab is great. If you want an awesome 6 speed auto trans then an 08 is great. The 08s also come with an exhaust brake as standard equipment.
