Gas mileage

Hey guys not sure if this is in the correct section, but here it goes.

My 07 2500 is getting about 14-16mpg and i was expecting 20-23mpg' i calculayted the gallons vs the miles i got till fuel light came on. If i go by the display its 20-21 but thats not correct. I have cleaned my MAF/MAP sensor already and it was pretty gunky..This was city and freeway driving, is that the mpg's you guys are getting?

Getting 14 overall. Low of 11 towing car trailer, high of 18 empty all highway. I'd say you are normal.

Average of 20.6 on the highway at 65mph, closer to 18.5 at 75mph (the 4.10's killl it) and can drop as low as 16 with a lot of town driving, 12-14 with the 5'er on.

your average is 20.6? not what the display reads but your average per tank or gallons you put in.

I don't know who lead you to believe you should see 20-23, but the best I have ever seen is a kiss over 20 with optimum conditions and I get good mileage compared to a lot of members here. *Before lift*

My lie-o-meter consistently reads 20.8 to 24+.

The 2nd Gen truck can get 21-23 mpg numbers but most 3rd Gens do not get as good mpg do to the higher TQ & HP and lets not forget the EPA smog BS they had to meet for the 3 Gen engines.

Hand calculated on my stock truck, I see 16 to 18 mpg mixed city and highway if i keep it below 75 mph. Not bad for a 350 HP 406 cubic inch four door truck. Lie-o-meter reads 1 mpg high.

I think all the truck owners I talked to lost at least one mile per gallon when the government forced that ultra low surfer diesel on us too.

I also have a 2007 6.7. Mine is 4WD and I am fully deleted with the H&S.
When I bought the truck it had big ol mud tires and 20 inch rims. I was getting 15 mpg on the highway and 11 towing my 18 ft enclosed trailer.
I replaced the tires and rims with stock 17 inchers and now get 18-20 highway and 12--14 towing. The overhead display is grossly inacurate as it typically reads 3-4 mpg high.
The figures I stated are hand calculated after a fillup.

Most of my MPG increases were due to the change to stock tires. The big mud tires really killed mileage. The H&S probably added 4 MPG highway and 2 MPG towing.
