I get 18 to 19 MPG all day long at 75. Got over 20 at 65. All stock 2006 with 41000. I got 14 to 15 in town when it was new and now get 16 to 17 in town.

I have been watching my driving habits and I do need to slow down and that will help. The dealer said that they could not do anything about my mileage of course.

Filled up last night. 636mi on the tank. Put 32.9 gal in. 35mi DTE on computer. 19.33mpg. I drive hwy and city and have the xzt. I drive 70-73 on the hwy. Worst I ever got was around 13.5 towing around 7000k lbs on my trips from VA to FL.

I just got back from a 2000 km trip. Left with only 1000 on it and mileage wasn't that great but by the time I got home it had improved. On one leg of 700 km I got 20 mpg per US gal or 24 on Imperial gallon. Just me and a suitcase. I drove at 98 KpH or a hair under 60 mph all the way. When my modem is replaced I will post a detailed message with all the details. I am happy anyway. Truck is an 08, dually, 3:73, long box, auto.

It looks like the 6.7 is getting about the same as my 6.4 if you cut through the BS. None of which is a thrill on the wallet. My 5.9 is a steady 18-19hyw 11-12 towing.

Just made a short trip to Houston empty 123 miles round trip and filled up with 7.04 Gallons when I got back. The truck is still breaking in with only 1400miles on it. The over head read 17.4 when I filled it up so getting pretty close. I was driving 65-70. My MPG seems to be increasing everytime I put fuel in it.

I guess I'm just cursed with one that ain't getting mileage no matter what. But hell, I work on a cattle ranch, towing a 24-foot stock trailer quite a bit, got a flatbed utility bed on it, and never see my mileage computer much over 12.4.

I guess the only rational way to look at it, is I bought a big truck to work, and tow with, and the mileage is what it is! My fuel bill is around $1,100.00 @ month.........

I know that driving 70-80 will not give the best mpg but it still seems very low. I called a Chrysler rep and talked to a guy from guess were India and he of course has no idea what a Dodge truck looks like. He said I had to have the dealer to a diagnostic check before anything could be done. I made an appt for this Monday and will see what comes from it. As bad as the mileage is I still Love this truck and would not trade it for anything (well maybe not anything). I know others are having mileage problems as well and maybe it would help if everyone would call Chrysler and complain I know others have. The dealers can only do what the manufacture tell them to do so we need to be letting Dodge know. What are your thoughts and am I just crazy?

Thanks
The price of diesel is killing me. Just saw it in So. Cal. for $5.14/gal. Regular Unleaded was around $1.00 to $1.10/gallon cheaper.

I'm getting 15-16 MPG in my 07.5 RAM and getting 30 MPG in my Honda Accord.

It's a pretty sick situation. I love driving my Dodge, but the pain of fuel economy and fuel cost will probably cause me to sell it.

Not to despair, I still have three other CTD's to drive. Earlier models that get much better economy. I use them when I have real work to do.

completely unrelated, but in my last Dodge, (96 auto v10) I was goin 90ish MPH in Ohio up to NY getting 12MPG empty. From SD to Ohio it was only 6mpg and 75ish though, which was average.

6.7l fuel economy

I have actually had great luck with the 6.7L. Unfortunately, with many of the posts you only hear about the problems so I thought I would share my experience:

miles 17000
oil changes every 3000 miles
stock except for the CAI which is a Ram Air 8 ply filter.

Highway miles empty. I average 18 to 19+
With the CAI installed I get around 20-21 on the flats.
In the mountains it is more in the 19s.
This is 70-75mph

In town I average 13.5 to 14

With a slide in lightweight camper I get around 15-16 at 55mph.

Overall, I have been very pleased with the truck and reliability. Of course, cheaper diesel would be nice as well

2007 6.7L, quad cab, 4x4, stock except for the CAI, mineral gray., SB

I drove 450 miles from Ft. Smith, Ar to Amarillo, Tx with an altitude climb of
about 3200 ft. Sat the cruise at 65 mph and did not run the AC. The over-
head reading was 19.1 mpg and the hand ciphered result was 17.6 mpg.
The truck has about 8,000 miles with only a vented tailgate modification.

2007 dually four wheel drive ranch hand full replacement. Stock everything. 32000 miles. Hand calculated hwy I get at 60mph - 17.5 , 70mph - 15.

My buddy has a 5.9 two wheel drive long bed 60000 miles and gets hand calculated on the hwy at 80mph - 20mpg. At 70mph he gets 22.5mpg. All stock.

Amazing what the 5.9 gets...
