Front diff driveshaft seal leaking

I was under my truck re mounting my water meth, and noticed I had oil leaking from my front diff where the drive shaft goes in and I think the seal is out. You guys look at yours and see if it is leaking and have any of you had this problem.

$12 seal, and not real hard to install. Big hammer and a screwdriver did it for me! I know......there are supposed to be special tools involved, but some things are just done from habit!

Over tighten or under tighten the pinion nut can cause real differantial damage.Beware.

Yes,......definately torque the pinion nut to specs..... I was more referring to the removal of the yoke!

I have an 07 2500 and I noticed the same thing, The cold weather shouldnt make the seals leak should it? And wouldnt that be covered in the warranty?

My dealer is going to replace mine under warrenty. And the cold weather could shrink the seal and then once it gets warmed up quite leaking.

mine too!

I noticed the other day that mine is leaking again, the first time the Dealership fixed it, under warrenty, im taking it back in to get it redone along with the pitman arm seal too... these Alaska cold winters dont do seals any good.
