Ford's 6.4 troubles
Ford's 6.4 troubles
I'm sure you have read that Ford is having trouble with its 6.4 PSD (flame thrower). Has any one heard of this occuring with the newer CTD or the D/A? From what I have read, the problem with the PSD is in the engine and the particulate filter is doing its job.

It is not an issue any longer.
The issue as I understand it is that some raw fuel was passing through the system and being stored in the muffler and it was igniting.
How, and WHY???? Who knows but, the issue appears to be resolved.

Our 6.4L has no regen problems and it does not sound like that truck did anything wrong??
They all get hot when they regen, no ifs ands or buts. Wilting flowers is not hard to do and exhaust temps in the 200 degree range are hotter than you can stick your hand in front of?
SO I am not sure what the comlaint is?
