Finally picked up my Cab and Chassis w/pics!
I had posted earlier that I had test-driven a cab and chassis DRW a couple weeks ago. We were going to get it, but it didn't have cruise, so the dealership started looking for one with cruise. Well they found one with cruise and an exhaust brake, but it had a cheap flatbed on it. We talked them into swapping beds. It took them a couple weeks, but it was well worth it. It's got a very different powerband than the 02 it replaces. Feels like it has more power as well. I think the new 6 speed shifts better than the old one. I will have to get used to reverse being all the way left and down. I thought i'd take some pics and post them since this is as clean as it will probably ever be again.
Oh yeah, I looked at the exhaust. There is a sensor right before the muffler, but nothing after. Seems that would make it ok for straight pipe or aftermarket muffler, but I'll probably wait a while until someone else does it first.

Thanks. It's a sk model CM bed. The dealership had it mounted and wired up, and we had them switch beds, so I'm not sure it's exact cost. It wasn't listed outright on the sticker because of the bed swapping. I know it's $800 more than the base-level flatbed that was origionally on the truck when they got it in. Here's their website and phone #:

Thanks guys. It runs a little shy of 2500rpm at 75mph, pretty much the same as the 2002 6-speed with 4.10 it replaced. We got it for pulling heavy loads, not driving fast. I usually try to run between 65 and 70 where it gets a little better mileage. Here's a pic of the flatbed from behind for C&C Milo.

Good looking truck...
I recall reading in another thread that an owner of a C&C had removed the muffler but didn't notice any difference in the audible tone of the exhaust note... the DPF acts as a pretty good muffling agent in itself. No engine lights came on and the truck still ran so apparently no damage done.

Got one with basically the same bed except mine is the long wheelbase, 11.5 ft bed. One suggestion, I believe you will want to move the spare tire to the drivers side. Big blind spot where it is.

We've ran them like that on 3 other flatbeds in the past. Tried it on the driver's side on the first one we ever had and put it on the passenger's after a month. On all the flatbeds i put a piece of metal across the bed where the supports for the headache rack are. It creates a box for tools and things. With the spare on the driver's side, there is no access to anything in that space. I've never had a problem with the blind spot.

Well, I haven't pulled off the cover and counted gears, but it runs pretty much the same rpms as the last truck we had that was an 2002 with a 6 speed and 4.10's. They both run around 2500-2600rpm at 75. Both window stickers say 4.10.

Thats what I run , 2500 rpms's at 75, and I have the G-56 6-speed in mine with 3.73's. Your 02 had a different trans with a taller 6th gear. I'm pretty sure you have the 3.73's as I don't think you can get the G-56 with 4.10's. I could be wrong though, that happens alot.

It may have 3.73's. I can't find anywhere on the window sticker where it says anything about gear ratio. I'm pretty sure the first truck I drove without cruise or exhaust brake said 4.10 gears in the optional equipment. This truck doesn't say anything, so it may have 3.73. It's been a real problem swaping trucks and beds, can't remember which had what. So what is the difference in the gear ratios in the new and old 6 speed?
