Engine Block Heater
Engine Block Heater
Does anyone know where I could get the chord for the e.b. heater on an '08 3500? The Dodge dealer had one for about $50.00, which I assume is way overpriced. Anyone know of a good place for an aftermarket/generic brand? Or, am I stuck buying from Dodge?
And exactly why would they instal an e.b. heater and not include the chord? I know it helps cut costs, but that's borderline ridiculous.

Yeah, pretty cheap.
Try Geno's online or a Cummins shop. I got a Mopar OEM from ebay for around $35 shipped. The OEM comes with the sheathing and the three mounting tabs the go in the stock locations. Not sure, but I think the generics are just the cord.

Carson is better but still not very good. I told them there was a rattle under the truck coming from a heat shield. They called me the next day said it was because my exhaust pipe was shortened when the flatbed was installed, charged me 48.00 and said they almost didn't release the truck back to me because it was dangerous that way! BTW, the rattle is still there after I added the pipe back and re welded it. The rattle was the heat shiel near the gas tank
So carson is better but still a dealer
