This is on my Dad's truck. It is a 08 4 door 4X4 with 6 speed manual. And 40K miles.

What kind of EGT's should he be seeing empty on levels 4 or 5 and towing on level 2? He is hitting 1500 while towing not for extended periods just on some hills he said. Is that too high or not. I know that on my 04 I will hit 1600 while racing. And alot of folks say to let out at 1400. Is it fine to run at those temps or should I suggest he tow on the stock setting. I think he said he was getting close to 1400 while towing on the stock setting.

Also what kind of MPG increase has everyone notice while empty with this box?

I just got the edge juice w/ attitude a couple of weeks ago on my 07.5. I have not towed with it yet but while driving empty up a pretty good grade my egt's were1150 but went up to 1350 while in regen. I have not tried power settings 2 - 5 yet as I am experimenting with mileage in level 1 and plan to do the others on down the line. On level 1, I am seeing about a 1 mpg increase. I also added a aFe intake and a MBRP dpf/back exhaust.

 

When I first put the edge in the egt's where at 1100 or so just normal driving and 1300 or so in regen. Since than I have deleted my DPF and EGR and my temps are below 800 when on the interstate. I have found the best milage is on number 4 but I am on my second Box.

 

I can hit 1400 pretty easy. I will be towing wth the first time with the box on Thursday. The AFE filter helped quite a bit

The 6.7's run alot hotter than the 5.9's. I think 1500 is geeting a little warm IMO but I know guys that will run 1500 for several minutes.

 

Yea thats the same I told him. I set his alarm to go off at 1500. And for it to de-fuel at 1550.
