dump question-plastic tube???

what is that hard plastic tube on the right side of the engine-it is in front of the fuel filter housing. looks like it comes from somewhere farther down the engine, then goes in, under the valve cover. every time i messing with my engine- i am afraid i am going to crack it or break it in half!

On my 12 valve, its the breather tube. On a new 6.7, I don't know.

Is it a black hard plastic line that runs from the bottom side of the valve cover to the side of the block down by the ECM? If it is then it's part of the CCV system that returns the oil that is captured back to the block.

wesport- i believe that is it! geez-you would think that would be a metal line- so there isn't a chance of breaking it. like i stated earlier. every time i bump it,etc- i think it is going to crack or break!
