The 6.7 Cummins should allow us to tow any size Airstream. I'll get a picture up of both in the RV area when it arrives.

Where did you buy your truck from??

Sounds like this will be a good truck. Kudos to Dodge. Replacing the 5.9L was a tall order.

Where do you hear this from? I've not read anything about any pistons failing in the 6.7 engine.

On page 2 of this thread, someone named RCW posted that he had two 6.7 engines in his shop with piston failures. I requested more information immediately about what he said and he never posted back. I guess you don't have any choice but to take it for what it is worth if he won't post back.

I'm over 30,000 miles now on my 6.7 cab and chassis with no problems.

Yeah, I'm curious too about the piston failures. Was reading over at the flamingdiesel place and one of them refferred to "those Cummins guys" with their piston failures? Us Cummins guys have the proof....video with flames, where are the pics, vids of the piston failures? It's hard to believe that after all the years of the 5.9 and who has had piston failures on stock engines? And not because the oil filter blew apart? Something stinks around here......

OH and I could not register at the other place....maybe my email address is on their watch list.....don't let him register.....he's one of those "Cummins guys".

I figured Luke S would have posted something by now if there's issues with the pistons.
I for one haven't heard any issues on three different Cummins forums.

That's the problem when someone just throws something out and then never comes back with any information about what they said. It's picked up on other sites and made a big deal when there is nothing to it.

As far as the two foot flames, nope, haven't seen any of that, and now that there is ULSD available in my area, I don't even see any smoke when it goes through regen. You don't even know it is happening.

Maybe it's finally apparent that Ford/International need to give Cummins' engineering department a call for some much needed help

here is a link to the guy talking about the "piston failures" with Us "Cummins guys". It's over at the diesel stop, I was over there laughing and read it and said...."What???".

http://forums.thedieselstop.com/ubbt...0&fpart=1&vc=1

It's about 12 posts down on the first page, actually pretty sure it's the 12th post, just don't want to use the guys name. I could not log in or sign up to ask where he got his information from. I don't believe a word he said, just a bunch of horse dukie from some new and sour 6.4 owners.

Yeah there is a thread going on in the psd.org site now in the recall thread I think and a guy stated that piston failures at 80k were "not uncommon" or something like that, can't remember exactly. Another stated the fuel system goes out after warranty and costs 10k to replace. I don't know where these guys get their info from. I don't believe anything I hear until I see hard evidence to back it up. I'm on here and other Cummins specific forums and I have not seen any "common" piston failure problem threads, nor have I heard any. As for the fuel system, apparently cuz the vp44 sucked it means EVERY IP and/or fuel pump sucks on our trucks according to some other diesel owners. I mean Cummins has not been without problems in it's history just like every engine, but come on....

dodgeguy,

I think that are ****** becasue our engines don't fall a part like theirs so they have to bad mouth ours to make them selves feel better about buying a pile of crap truck and not one with a Cummins in it
