There isn't actually a Fitting but rather a recessed grease point that needs a grease needle to find.

There was a post on this with a photo IIRC...

It is a recess and is very hard to find. I had to show my dealership the picture (do a search on the front drive shaft grease fitting) to convince them there was one. Then you still could hardly see and and had to reach in there and feel for it. Then, we had to drop the crossmember to get it rotated into the correct position to get their needle in there (grease shoots everywhere otherwise). Everyone just cursed the engineer on that horrible design.

Here's a picture of that fitting. I always carry this photo in my truck since it has proved invaluable in assisting the lube technician to find it. Still, I've found very few that can locate it even with the picture. After you have located it put some kind of a mark nearby so that it can be more easily located next time.

^^ no picture.

I found it here: http://https://www.dieseltruckresour...er.php?u=43237

The link does not work though...

Thanks to Donut Gestapo!

Just take a look at this guys public profile gallery and there is an excellent picture of it. Print it out as large as possible and give it to the service guy for training.

It is a real PITA. Really need to get the special needle tool. Funny thing is that at the dealership I was at no one knew jack about it and they said they had customers with tons of miles, no lube, and no problem... Lucky for them?

Thank all for the help. I have a 5.9 so, I posted this in the wrong section. The needle I had wouldn't pincture the hole. I made a small hole with a small punch & tried it.. Don't know if grease got in there or not.. Seems like all the grease came out aroung the small hole I made.. Mabe some grease got to the right area

Again, thanks for the pics
