dreaded oil pan leak! ???
Hey all! I'm trying to find a cross reference for this Chrysler #680433300AA oil pan to a Cummins#. Does anyone know how I might be able to get it? I have been searching all over for it only to turn up with nothing. Forgot! I am working on my 08 Ram 2500 6.7L.

Quick google search turned up 3949769 as the number good for 03-07/08 depending on the site listing it. But the Mopar number covers both the 5.9L and the 6.7L so I would think that cummins number would too.
and...

Don't know anything about that company or that oil pan- they just say it fits and it sure is less $$$$

Thanks Jona! I just tried doing another search and come up with zip. It must be the way i'm wording it. Did it give any other mopar to cummins conversions or just that number?

All I found was that number. The ebay listing that was redacted from my post was under the Mopar number- $300 for the pan, bolts, etc. Roughly the same price as Cummins charges rather than the extreme amount from Mopar.

Ya. My truck actually calls out for 68038821AA. It's a more expensive pan. But the pan number that I posted earlier looks identical to mine but a lot less $. Dealer said they look the same but it's used on the cab and chassis trucks. Do you know if they'll fit the regular pickups?

Sorry- can't help you there. I don't know why an oil pan would be different on a cab and chassis truck- I thought the only thing different was that they came without a box! (and maybe a few less options- being a work truck and all).
Sometimes I wonder if the "difference" is just a part number and a price. I once asked a local dodge dealer why a 2006 3500 SRW Mega Cab is rated for a slide-in camper and the 2500 isn't and he said of course- payload. So I asked what 3500 parts I needed to install on my 2500 to achieve said payload. He couldn't answer that question- as my truck already has the same rear end, suspension (leaf springs and shocks), and brakes as the 3500, but the badging on the door says 2500 and sticker in the jam shows a lower payload (the only differences he could find).
I chalked it up to him just lacking some crucial piece of information. But who knows...

Yes, that to. I was thinking with these oil pans. Some people on this forum was talking about there being rubber sandwiched between two pieces of metal on the pickups to quiet the clatter of the engine. I wonder if the cab and chassis trucks maybe don't have that rubber between the metal due to the fact that they are usually commercial trucks and are exempt from EPA laws? That would explain the price difference. Can anyone on the forum or off the forum shine some light? inquiring minds want to know. Lol
