DPF problems...are they gone?

Haven't heard any complaints about clogged DPF's in a while. I wonder if the majority were operator error - wrong fuel and oil, or was it the flashes that fixed the problem?

I've had turbo problems and oxygen sensor problems but the actual dpf has always worked OK - no message about being xxx% full. Only 12k miles on my truck.

No DPF problems.

I have had an oxygen sensor come on a few times and apparently a reflash fixed that. The DPF only came on one time with XX% when I was doing alot of in town driving at the time. I ran it out on the highway for a little while and it went away. Never any problems.

18600 miles on mine
2007.5 QC 4x4 mineral gray, SB.

The DPF is just a henchman...the EGR truly is the evil mastermind under the hood of these new trucks. i plan on bidding mine adieu ASAFP.

Your factory warranty covers cleaning the EGR valve and cooler provided you are still under factory warranty. In order to delete the EGR you would first have to delete the DPF as removing the EGR with the DPF still functioning would cause the DPF to clog and give you more problems. Take out the mob boss but leave the henchmen and one of them will become the new mob boss. Anyway, we aren't permitted to talk about removing emissions equipment on highway use vehicles on this forum so if you want to read up about getting rid of the gremlins, go over to www.cumminsforum.com <--free reign over there.

I had mine cleaned under warranty in Texas because it threw the p0406 code. Does yours throw a code? If your vehicle is still under warranty and the clogging of the EGR is causing the MIL to come on and throw a code, I don't see how it CAN'T be covered under warranty.

Why couldn't they wait til 2010 to start charging us $1600 more(than the old $5555) for an engine that gets worse mileage and requires more maintenance and 2x the oil changes. I am in the service department for the first time with 3 dodge diesels(350K total) This one is overheating with right at 1000 miles. If they still have $9500 dealer cash on the 2007 trucks, I will trade for a left over 5.9 as soon as I get home.
