Diff fluid capacities in manual...

I had to get someone elses opinion. I am looking for the front and rear diff capacities. I know I can find them on the net, and have, but it drove me nuts I could not find them in the owners manual. As a final say in the capacity. The section "Fluids, Lubricants.." seems to only list capacities for oil, coolant. There is a clear page listing types of fluids for t-case, diffs, etc but not capacities.

Am I missing that page or what? Why not print how many pints you need tbuy of the recommended fluid right mext to that?

Thanks! *print*

So you need a service manual to get those capacities? Crazy.

Dumb questionm, 2500=1.5AAM and 3500=11.5AAM?

My chiltons "axle id" doesn't seem to match. Checked glove box, no sticker. No tags on axles, must have been removed.

The 10.5" and 11.5" AAM axles are used in the 2500 & 3500 trucks. Call the dealer with your vin. They will tell you what axle you have.

The AAM Limited Slip axles DO NOT require the LS additive. Use 75-90 synthetic oil. My 11.5" rear took approx 3.8 quarts to the fill hole. Apparently the "Trac-Rite" referred to above is the AAM Limited Slip. My spec sheet just indicates "LS" and the VIN indicates the AAM axle. Just for info, 32oz = 1 quart; 135oz = 4.22 qts. I could not get that much into the rear, and I didn't leave the +/- 1/4" from the fill hole the manual indicates. My fill came to about 122oz.

Might also add that the NV5600 standard trans requires 9.5 pints (4.75 qts). 1-2 pints overfill is recommended by many mechanics. Mine took 11.5 pints, including about 2 pints overfill through the top bolt hole on the driver side PTO cover. I used Pennzoil Synchromesh. DO NOT USE regular gear oil!
