2008 ram Deletes Help me out !

I have a bone stock 2008 2500QC that has just over 10 k miles. Already had a turbo replaced due to the wonderful emissions system at 8 k miles.

What I want:

Just a 4' down pipe & secondary pipe to delete the cat, & the DPF & NOX.

EGR block off plates.

Better fuel mileage & a engine that's dependable & trouble free.

No codes to deal with.

I don't want:

A expensive box.........or

Any more power (ie programmers, chips etc)... I ran boxes on my 04.5 & broke lots of stuff !

I don't want to spend 1K to get the truck to run like the 06 I traded in.

Where can I get the best (lowest) price on the items I need to do this ?

Thanks in advance.........

You still need a programmer really like the Smarty or H&S to delete. You can run those on stock level power if you want to.

I did the Smarty and delete pipe for well under $1K. You could probably do the same with a TBE systems as well, and now there is the Smarty Jr. which is even less expensive.

I've seen the pipes & the egr deletes for around $350 total if I shop around.

That I can live with.

I just don't want to spend hundreds more on a programmer I don't really want just to clear the codes.

There must be a way ???

Smarty Jr will be the cheapest in price along w/ the deletes to be code free and run the stock software tuning. Only the Smarty's and H&S tuning (XRT, Mini and Black Max) will be your code free way.

Add in the pipes & smarty Jr & I'm well over the $800+ range........Not !

I'll just let dodge keep replacing turbos at least till my 3-36 is up before I go spending close to the 1K it'll take to solve the problem.

My specs are identical to yours. Have not had any problems yet. Will delete when the 3/36 ends. Honestly most problems are worked out by then anyway. I hope.

There is a way, leave the EGR system intact. Remove the DPF and NOX. Get some sims from H & S and plug them in. Remember you have to get the delete pipe with the bungs and replace the oxygen sensor.

Be prepared for a code fest. The will be able to tell what you did. Warranty is still in jeopardy.

And the old sayin to remember...
Ya wanna play, be prepared to pay.

Having said that...I deleted and no issues. Any issues I had pre surgery was all emissions related.
Smarty and deletes or similar...think of it this way...
You spend 50K or more on a truck...spend a grand or two on deletes and gauges, save on fuel costs at the pump, visits to the dealer and hassles with the MIL and the overhead chiming all the time.

I DON'T wanna play........I just want the basic dependability of the 4 previous emissions free 5.9's I had before ! (95, 2002, 2004.5, & 2006). Had to kill 2 cats on the last 2, but trouble free otherwise till I bombed the 04.5 (big mistake) parts broke & dependability wasn't there.

"KISS".....(keep it simple stupid !)........Just a code free emissions delete is ALL I'm after.

Too bad I can't run a '06 computer on my 6.7..........or can I ?????????

My jake & 6 speed auto would suffer tho............

You come up with a idea let me know. I'm figuring on the smarty to make my 6.7 as good as my "99 is. Agreed on simplicity. Smarty sounds pretty much code free from what I hear, just sucks hafta spend a grand to get it there.

Oh It can be done, but if you are worried about 1000 bucks on the first set of mods mentioned your gonna need new Fruit of the Looms when you look into that situation.

If I were you, Id go with a delete pipe, 213 bucks (DTR store)

and a Smarty Jr, 495 bucks (DTR Store)

Run the Smarty on the lowest setting and do the minimal deletes. Better MPG's, a cleaner healthier engine, and CODE FREE!

Oh and BTW, love the sig!
