Code P2299
Code P2299
I was driving on the freeway @ 65 -70 mph and the truck started to hesitate, like a misfire. The throttle control valve light came on. I pulled over and restarted it and the light went away and it ran fine. I took it to the dealer, I reported this and that the trans still shifts hard in "tow / haul" mode, and that my volt gauge and altenator does not show it's charging on start up for about the first minute or so. So, the dealer checks it and tells me they found a P2299 code. Then they ask me if I am a "left foot braker". I am not, and what would that have to do with the truck hesitating? So, now what?
Until now the truck has been a really good truck, but is this a sign of things to come. The dealer did another flash to fix all three issues, and told me try to "try it and let us know". I did the recall and the "AU" flash back in October. I have to wonder, what if I am towing my 12k lb 5th wheel and what if I can't get over? I really don't want to go lemon law on them, but if it does it again I will.

sometimes if you even touch both pedals at the same time it will kick on the light and hesitate....if you take your feet off both pedals for a minute it will go away and be fine....i plow snow and use 2 feet and it happens all the time....its because the throttle system is "drive by wire" meaning that it is fully electronic.... the P2299 description is.. " throttle pedal and brake pedal positions not compatible"...... its no big deal at all..... best of luck to ya
