check gauges light stays on

I have an 09 and the "check gauges light" does not turn off unless I turn off the power 2 times. Everything is working fine.

Any ideas what to do to get it to remain off?

I have a smarty in it and I cycled the programs back to stock and back to smarty, that did not turn off the light.

What codes is it throwing?... is it deleted?... if so are you running delete capable software on the Smarty?

Nothing is deleted all the same for last 6 years, it does not throw any codes, just "check gauges light" is staying on.

Today it needed two new batteries. Drove it 50 plus miles no codes light still on.

I just cleaned the two ground wires going from the factory battery terminals to the fenders/frame areas. Wire brushed the bolts and coated everything with dielectric grease. Reassembled then cycled the ignition on and off 3 times, light is now off.

Seems the factory grounds were to clean after cleaning the engine compartment. I was told by Dodge tech that is most of the time what kicks the light on. Engine bay cleaning with high pressure or gunk. They get 1.2 hours to clean and do it..

The 2 ground wires ends needed scuffing up, reseating, coating with die e grease then the bolts reinstallation on coated bare metal for goods grounds.

PS The 2 Interstate MTP-65 batteries purchased and installed in the ghetto area of Baltimore MD cost me $483.00 to get my truck out before night fall.

A little high, but done right away (finished in about 1 hour). There are good guys left in some places...
