???Check engine light???
My check engine light came on today...what does it mean?
Its an yellow/amber eng pic between the tach and speedo.
Truck still runs fine.
2007 2500 ctd 23,300 miles
Codes is there a way to ck or read them?
I`am not familiar with cking them.
Thanks guys.

Turn the key to on then off twice and then back to the on (not running) position. Any codes will start showing up in the odometer display. 6.7s have a tendancy to not give codes a lot of the time....
I had a problem my engine light would come on once or twice a week. I was messing around one day and pushed the peg to change from milege to trip on the dash held it down and turned the key on its been 6 weeks no engine light so idk
I got it to go off.
I cycled the key for three time on and off, leaving it in the on position.
The CEL flashed for 11 times then went out.
Thanks for all the help, I`ll keep and eye on it and hope all is ok.

I had auto zone do a scan.
Code p2509 showed up...some thing about the ecm.
What should I do?
Its running fine, and no other CEL faults.
Any thing I can/should check?
Thanks again.

I found this online. I cannot vouch for it's accuracy though
P2509-ECM/PCM POWER INPUT SIGNAL INTERMITTENT
The ECM receives a constant voltage from the batteries through the unswitched battery wires that are connected directly to the positive (+) battery post. The ECM receives switched battery input through the vehicle Ignition Switch wire when the vehicle is turned on. The ECM will illuminate the MIL lamp immediately after the diagnostic runs and fails. During the time the customer may experience some performance effects such as engine dying or hard starting. Fault information, trip information could be inaccurate. The ECM will turn off the MIL lamp after the diagnostic runs and passes in 4 consecutive drive cycles.
When Monitored:
Continuous - key on or key off.
Set Condition:
Loss of voltage detected at the ECM for a calibrated amount of time. Supply voltage to the PCM fell below 6.2 volts momentarily or the ECM was not allowed to power down correctly (retain battery voltage for 30 seconds after key off).
possible causes.....
POOR CONNECTIONS AT THE BATTERIES
LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE
OPEN FUSED B+ TO ECM
OPEN GROUND CIRCUIT
BATTERY + SHORTED TO OTHER CIRCUITS
RETURN CIRCUIT SHORTED
BATTERY + SHORTED TO GROUND
DEFECTIVE BATTERY
I have seen this code set if you try to start the truck with only one battery hooked up

Thanks Dodgezilla for the info...
I`ve done a search and read into this a little deeper.
It does`nt seem to be a major/damaging fault, so I`am going to ck my two computor connections and battery connections.
And with that done I`am calling it good!
This Forum has been a great help!
Thank you`all again.
