Exclamation Changing gears down from 3 to 2 makes my truck rev

How come when I change gears down from 3 to 2 my trucks makes little reving bursts. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the jake brake?

I don't have a jake brake but mine will do it if I turn the key on and off during a left turn.

That's quite peculiar. Tell me how did you come about this? And is it only during the left turn?
The reason I think it might be something to do with the jake brake is because I first noticed it while using the jake brake.

I haven't tried making a right turn yet.
Actually I was thinking you weren't serious.
What you might want to do when you make a post in reference to your particular truck is to make it in the third gen area and in this case the 2007 and up section.
That way you might have people more familiar with your truck respond to your question.
Posting in the "other/Non Diesel Related" section can result in getting a response from people like me who think an Exhaust Brake is a substitute for smoking a cigarette.

I'd move this into the respective section, but I STILL don't think he's serious. Or if he is, it's poorly worded. When I first read it, my first thought was 'delete', but I'm not so sure.

Mr. Skipper, why don't you elaborate a tad more and give us a hint as to what the problem is doing.

Ok I'll post in the 3rd gen area bark. To elaborate I would say it actually "misses" a bit. It's like the throttle is going down too far to change the gear down from 3 to 2.

The truck doesn't buck, it just throttles medium to low to medium a couple times

I think it is normal and just a part of the system so it doesn't shock the driveline too much.

I talked to my mechanic, and he said it was because of a turbo valve that opens and closes when the j-brake kicks in. He said to use the j-brake as much as possible to clear it out. I tried using it a little more than usual yesterday and it seemed to work a lot better as I used it more.

You should drive with it on all the time and use tow/haul mode to keep it clean. The turbo is varaible and needs constant actuation due to the emmisions. Take on the fwy and get up to speed and then when getting off use the e-brake and downshift the trans to really make it work and clean itself up.
