symptoms are; From a stop when I hit the gas it Boggs out and sounds like the exhaust break is on then the turbo kicks in and it's fine. it is only temporary and does not do it all the time. the code it throws is, for some reason, a GM code and it is not listed on the dodge list of codes. i've done some research and most info is leaning towards cleaning of the turbo and deleting the EGR. if cleaning doesnt work my other option is to replace the turbo. I could be wrong but i'd like to hear from you guys to know yer input.
Thanks

I think you're on the right track with the turbo unfortunately . Sounds like the VGT and Brake are sticking... Hopefully you drive all the time with the EB on and in TH mode to help avoid these turbo issues?

Once you are are sure the Turbo is good, fixed, or replaced, the deletes are the way to avoid repeat.

I do drive with the EB on but not in tow haul. I'll start doin that from now on tho. That seams to be the general consensus on this site.

Well, you either have to keep the variable geometry of the turbo moving as much as possible (EB and TH mode) or prevent the soot in the first place... I do both and have nothing to report but good stuff.

Can I delete the EGR and cooler before I do the DPF? And do I need a programmer to make it run proper?

You can unplug the EGR motor and get a soft code. But, that is about it without a programmer You can leave the cooler and most things attached if you like, but should delete the DPF and you must have a programmer like Smarty or H&S to delete anything really...

My lil bros truck was doing this after he got it. Acadiana Dodge warrantied a turbo cleaning as it was still under 100k. Took 4 cleanings to get it working properly. It was deleted a week later.
