Cat full. See owners manual/Cat Stat 80%

Had been bringing dirt to the house using the dump trailer and the truck had been idling alot for a few days when I got this warning. The highway is about 15 miles from the house and the speed limit is 35/45. I kept the truck in 4th and 5th to keep the rpm's at 2,000 or more and in only about 10 miles I watched the 80% reading go to 70% and few miles later the warning went away. Still a pain in the ! but an easy fix..

I'm not expert, from what I understand it was the long term idling that did it.

That also happened to me. I was at 90. Drove down highway for a few KMs and it went away. It had to be from idling.

From what I've read here on the forums it was for sure from all of the idling. I just think it's a shame we can't use our new 6.7's like we could our 5.9's before them. I'm not ready to give it up though.

Just have the manual high idle inabled and you can use your cruse control to bump your idle up to 1000-1500rpm and you can let it idle for a long time with no probs and it also lets the A/C or heater work better when setting and warm it up faster on a cold morning.

Not sure if its true - but a tech told me that the high Idle does not help with idling. The EGT's still do not get hot enough because the engine isn't under load while idling.

I have the high idle but use it only to warm the engine for about 5 minutes. I REALLY try to avoid all idling after what I have been through with my company trucks when we first got the 6.7's
