button shifter problem

I have a 2007.5 automatic with 90,000 miles. I can't make the transmission shift down with the button. Sometimes I can make the Tow/Haul light come on when I push the (-) button, but that's it. Any fixes for this? Do I have to take it to the dealership?
I bought the truck used with 80,000 miles and the button has never worked as far as could tell. Am I supposed to get an indication on the dash by the PRND?

Sorry I can't help as I have not had this problem. 153,000 on the clock here on my 07.5. Is there a fuse for that part of the transmission operation? Maybe a plug at the base of the steering column that is loose? Just thoughts on what 'might' be causing it.

You should get an indication on the dash of what gear you're in. I would take it to the dealer.
