Another trip to the dealer

Well that makes my 4th trip to take my truck and get this stupid exhaust system worked on. My new dealers are supper cool compaired to my old crappy one but anyway I wish Chrysler had this DPF up there ---. I dont know the exact codes that have been thrown but looks like a sensor this time. Chrysler needs to test this stuff before the sell it.

They have did me great. The only problem with my truck is the exhaust system. I Chrysler cant get this thing fixed they need to let us take it off. I know it is a goverment thing. I bet if some iraqi wanted a truck with no dpf they would give them one.

You can even depend on this thing. I work with this truck and I usually close to the dealer so I dont worry to much. Its getting old taking this thing back so much.

I feel you. I did the same thing... I brought the truck back in over 11 times, all documented thoroughly. I think that if I didn't have anything aftermarket installed, I probably would have better luck with this truck. The first four or five times, I brought it back to the same dealer that I bought it from and they misdiagnosed the problem every time. I started bringing it back to my trusted dealer that is four miles further than this first one and they ended up fixing all of the problems that I had. I think it was partially my fault because I was putting in LSD fuel vice ULSD. I found that at least out here in California, it really matters what type of diesel fuel you put in. Truck runs great now. I'll make sure to keep you posted.

....another thing you have to keep in mind is that alot of these "problems" on the 6.7 are more than any tech can handle. They are issues at an "engineering" level and we have to wait for them to decide what is needed for the repair. True, not ALL of them, but I know the few trucks that I was seeing on a regular basis for check engine lights, DPF 100%, turbo mechanical issues, were all issues that we, as well as the customer, had to wait for the designers to provide the answers. I will say since the AU update, all my "problem children" have stayed away for the time being.

You must use ULSD. The fuel system in these trucks and not to mention the emissions equipment are not made to handle LSD fuel. And J BODY is right, the amount of trucks coming into the dealership i work at has dropped significantly. Seems like i've been seeing more 5.9 Long Blocks and Short Blocks than anything. The DPF Clogging and Turbo Mechanical issues seem to be dropping off a ton. I think Dodge/Cummins are figuring this engine out.

I hope so. I am going to call chrysler tomorrow and ask them where to send my bill to for all my expenses and loss time. I wonder how big they will laugh at me.
