Driver's door lock broken.....1st trip to the dealer scheduled for Wed

Anyone have an experiece similar to this?

My drivers door lock will not unlock with the keyfob, or with the door unlock buttons. It seems like it is jammed, I can barely get the door to unlock with the key...just enough to have it unlock and get the door open...after I remove the key the lock slams shut.

BTW the rest of the doors on the truck operate normally. My guess is a bad electronic door control....or someone attempted to break into my truck and screwed something up

Mine did the same. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the latch assembly on the drivers side door. Took two trips as they had to order the part, but no big deal.

I guess I feel better knowing it has happend before, now I don't fear that someone broke into my truck.

Truck goes in tomorrow, hopefully they will get the part the same day.

As an update...the dealer has to order a new door lock mechanism from Detroit so it is going to take a few days for the part to come in. For now I get my truck back and just have to force the key some to use it.

Mine would unlock using the inside door handle. I was afraid the key would break off in the lock, so slid across the seat from the passenger side or left the window down when possible.

Think it took three days for the dealer to receive the part.

Yah I'm hoping I don't bust off my key, if I do I guess the dealer will have to warrenty it, since they basically told me to force it for now until the part comes in.

I sure hope it was just a bad run of parts and won't happen again.

Mine is into the dealer today to get the new part installed.

What was your build date? Mine was 3-26-04
