Alternator issue?

I have a brand new 07 2 wd and was wandering if someone has the same problem I do. When the engine is cold, the voltmeter drops below 14 inside the cab, the lights dim and the engine slows down. Again, this appears to only happen when the engine is not warmed up and I am at idle. Does or has anyone else observed this problem also? Thanks in advance, Rico
