AFE Intakes

Hey guys, love the site been browsing for a while now and decided to jump on in and join the fun

I was pretty set on ordering an AFE Stage 2 intake for my 6.7 tell i found out that they also have a "Mega Cannon II" looks like its just a bigger tube....Whats the advantage? maybe more turbo whine? It is more expensive and it seems that everyone is happy with the Stage 2 so what do you guys think?

Mega Cannon or stage 2?

i was doing some research on mega cannon and found 1 for i belive 430. But on afe website, there is no such thing along with alot of others. I dont understand fully this mega cannon bit but I am curious. i paid 319 shipped for my badboy. you would be paying 100 pluss for a mega cannon maybe for an extra hp or 2. Is it worth it???? Not a bargain buy imho but if you got money in the bank to blow, I WOULD!!!!!!!!

Also note, mega cannon might be an older afe product thats discontinued!! but again, this is my first of even hearing about it. Did a google search and its all over, but when you click on websites, its nowhere to be found! Please post links!!!!

there is the link to AFE's page on it, It claims 7 hp and 15lb feet over the stg 2 claims....

How is the whistle of your Stage 2? i had an 06 with AEM and silencer ring pulled was wandering how it compares, i don't imagine it will be as loud but i would like some whine back

still dont see comparisons from stage 2 to mega cannon. My air filter looks bigger, but i might be blind. My guess is sound would be the same per stage2 and mega. I dont know how the 5.9's were but with the 6.7, theyre were baffles and cross hairs in the stock tubing to make it more silent. Kinda of unique looking. I was quiete suprized on the amount of work that was put into the stock tubing making the afe tube look like crap.

Anywayz, it whistles alot more, even at idle sometimes while pressure starts to go down, kinda cool actually.

Again, going back to my original response, unless you have money in the bank to blow, I dont think its worth the extra few horses you get unless your a dyno freak and have to have the best of the best.

As for the silencer ring, I couldnt imagine taking it out of the 6.7 unless I heard it with my own ears physically. Its almost to loud right now, but that is my personal opinion.
