68RFE Hot Line?

I got one of those clamp on adaptors from Geno's so I can hook up the tranny temp sensor for my Commander gauges. If I'm laying under the truck and looking up at the transmission on the passenger side, I see two metal lines coming out of the transmission and going forward. One is near the top of the transmission and the other one is much lower and just above the pan.

Which of these two is the "hot" line I should put my sensor on? I drove the truck and touched both of the lines, and they feel about the same temp to me.

Sorry I can not tell you which line it is. I would assume the hot line refers to the line carrying the oil to the tans cooler. I would put the truck under a load, like power brake it for a half a minute, not a lot of RPM just 850 0r something like that after the truk is at operating temp. then check the difference in temperatures of the two lines.

They both come out of the case on the new 6 spd. One comes out very near the top, the other comes out lower, about 2 inches above the pan

I thought this was about the 1-800 customer complaint line - anyway, the top line is to the cooler, bottom is return
