Not everyone is having issues with the 6.7. They can and will arise with a first year new design vehicle. Throw the emissions in the mix and it gets even more complicated. He needs to swap dealerships if the issues persist. Diesel Tech is just no getting it done but maybe it isn't his fault either. Star has to approve numerous parts before the dealer can get them. If he depended on his truck that much he should of waited. Hope it works out for him. It will with time and patience. He needs to get a Dodge/Cummins engineer down to diagnose his truck properly and I bet all will be fine.

FWIW,,

I stopped in at the dealer in Laramie, WY last Friday .to buy a new
towing mirror glass for my truck and while talking to the "parts man" about
the problems some folks were having with their 6.7s,,, he said
that folks weren't running them hard enough, for what that's worth.
He also said that any 6.7 made after June 13th were problem free.
The pick ups were having problems because of the DPF and the chassis cab
only has the cat. converter. And like I said,,,all that is fwiw.
Just passing it on, don't holler at me

I finally found the mirror glass in Amarillo TX today, seven days later.,,,$64 just for the glass part, ouch.

I have had my 6.7l in the shop 6 times and it just crosssed 6500 miles, but I have to say I will put up with it as DC and the dealer have allways been very helpfull, loaner cars, parts when the needed them and the truck was allwas washed and clean. Sence the turbo was replaced, about 1000 miles ago i have had no issues and I think that the next time I go to the dealre will be for the free LOF that they said that they would give me because of all the truble. I bought the truck realising that there were going to to be new modle issues and as a Tech I can understand.

I'll 2nd that! Any time I've takin a trip or even the long grade we have here, I see the same thing. The way I see it, I may not make it to the top of the hill the fastest, but at least I know I'll make it everytime!

Just so you know the chassis cab does have a DPF.

Maybe, just maybe they'll have all the bugs worked out before I'll ever need to replace my '03.

I would NOT be willing to bet any money on it however....

I would diffinantly swap dealerships. I've heard both sides. A horse trainer I know had one in the shop 8 times in a month. He's now trying to find an 06 5.9. Others say they love them. Its new and you have to expect bugs. I'll keep my 5.9's for a while longer.

i think after the body on my truck rusts out in 20 years- i'll pull the engine and rebuild it and put into another truck and drive it for another 20 years.
