6.7 Gone!

If all goes well tomorrow, I will complete my transaction to get rid of my truck! I found an '06 with low mileage and I have made a what I think is a good deal! The dealer keeps telling me I don't drive my truck enough for the emissions to work properly. Well, I don't have the time nor money to drive it more!!! So far, in three months, I got six CEL (or MIL) lights. I really love the truck...it's my first diesel...but I can't stand the emissions problems. And my two buddies keep bragging about the better mileage they get out of their '06's!

I feel betrayed by my dealer as I should have been told that this truck would not work for me and my driving style. So, beware...if you do low mileage commutes and just putter around town...I say be leary of buying this new 6.7 with it's emissions!

I'm sure you understand that is illegal, don't you? Do not know for sure but wonder if computer would accept that. Although I have a real problem with tree huggers I feel we should do our part about driving cleaner burning trucks.

You will not regret it. I had a 6.7 for 4 months and traded it in on an 07 5.9. The 6.7 is a great pulling engine, BUT the emissions related problems are crazy. Regeneration, what a crock. I hope they get the emissions corrected. By the way, the 5.9 gets about 2 mpg better than the 6.7.

you guys are gay..lol trade your new truck 4 an old truck because you are not strong enough to push the pedal harder..lol hahaha seriously thou. who cares about 2 miles per gallon difference. You bought a new model year with a new engine. In 3 years from now there will be newer models and people will think the same about these.

So how exactly does trading a problematic vehicle in translate into sexual preference? Nice, mature, and helpful post there buddy.

Lots of people care about 2mpg. In these trucks, that translates into 15-20% difference. At $5 per gallon (local Chevron $4.999), that means quite a bit.

dpf delete can be done but not worth it if you like your warranty. the 6.7 is a monster and I personally look forward to seeing some good pulling trucks this year with them. I agree the mileage sucks but the epa is not concerned about how much we pay at the pump. Maybe a few years from now there will be MPG requirments to and the engineers will really have to earn ther keep. I hope it happens. Ol tom

yup just spend a couple hours with a sawzall, pair of wire cutters and a creeper and it will be better than new! nothing to it!

I went from an '07 6.7 to an '06 5.9 and couldn't be happier. congrats on the trade.

If you don't ever drive over 55 mph why do you even need a diesel?

Please explain this to me, so if I only drive under 55 I need a gasser, BUT if I drive over 55 I need a diesel.
