6.7 fuel filter change.

Changed the fuel filter today. I used a Fleetgard filter #FS43252E from Geno's $25.00.
I removed the left front tire but did not have to remove the plastic wheel well. It's a tight fit but it works. After draining the fuel in the filter and unplugging the sensor the filter canister simply unscrews like a oil filter. The fleetgaurd replacement from geno's is a complete unit that just screws back in place.
Be sure the old o ring is replaced with the new one and the sensor clip gets plugged back in. The new filter is a 7 micron, better than the stock 10 micron. Having to remove the tire is a PIA but the fuel filter is easy to change.
I read in a previous post that the fuel drains through the plastic tube much better if the filter is loosened and it did help but fuel still went everywhere.

The 6.7 filter also has a lot more filter surface than the 5.9 version.

apparently there no other filters cross with this one yet as it is brand new. guys at the International dealership have not even seen one yet. drop the E from the part # if you want to order one elsehwere. best price I've found is $19.28.

Well, i just changed my fuel filter. I took off the left tire but decided that would be a pain to take off inner liner. Also i was trying to figure out how to work from engine compartment or through liner in fender itself. NO GO!!!! So instead i just jacked up left front which is not neccessary and worked from below which has more then enough room to work with without removing anything. I had to used filter clamps to loosen filter though. All and all, its a 20 minute process from jacking up to lettin the jack down!!!

inner liner is held on with 7 or 8 8MM screws, all you need is a nut driver or socket on a cordless screwdriver, it comes off in less than a minute once you have the tire off.

Hate to be the bubble buster around here, but I picked up the same fuel filter assembly complete w/WIF sensor at a Dodge Dealership for $11.81; list price is $15.75 Chrysler p/n 5183410AA.

Now all I have to do is change it !

U can get that 1 at genos for 10 bucks. I was considering going with the stock filter and was really hesistant spending 15 bucks more just for a better micron or 2. Then I kept pondering on the phone wether i should save 15 bucks or not. Then I asked myself, ***, its only 15 bucks. So i went premium. haha. Im sure its all the same in the end but whateva

Just changed the fuel filter for the first time today on the 6.7L MegaCab (207 hrs and 8372 miles).......all without removing the L/F tire and wheel and wheel well liner.

Took about 25 minutes or so, including gathering up the drain pan, oil filter wrench, and cleaning up the mess. I sure to do miss the easy fuel filter changes on the 5.9L HPCR's.....they're a piece of cake.
