Ok guys this has been a pretty heated topic on here so I thought we should have a poll. Before you vote this is for people that own a 6.7 or have owned a 6.7 no one post that has test drove or has a brother,father,friend,etc that has one we dont care about there trucks. Vote for the one you would buy.If you had to buy another one and give reasons.

 

of course I will choose the 6.7 I have had zero problems and am very happy with it.

 

I had some problems, but the power is smooth and the good is far better than the bad, will never go back to a 5.9. This is one refined machine and DC should be proud, and they are fixing problems without hesitation. I like them so much my brother is picking up my two C&C Friday from NC and will be here Sunday, Upfitted on Monday by RaySide, Pics to come when there upfitted.

 

No brainer 6.7. I have had several p245a codes dealer has worked with my schedule. 68rfe is the nuts.

 

I like the 6.7. I've only had one CEL, it was coolant rationality. P0128, it went away and haven't gone to ******* yet. I just took a trip to Colorado and averaged 19.13mpg on the way out there and 21.9mpg on the way home. That is hand calculated. I know you're probably thinking I'm telling a story I couldn't believe it either. I kept watching the fuel gauge and it wasn't moving. The engine brake is nice and I think once the aftermarket gets some more options we are going to see some huge hp, tq numbers.

 

I have not had one bit of trouble with mine and really like the performance.

 

Six speed auto and exhaust brake are worth the minor annoyances I have experienced. 11500 miles and love to drive this truck!!

Just bought my first Dodge Ram and had a choice between the 5.9 and 6.7. I debated the pros and cons of the two, but chose the 6.7 and it has worked very well so far. I've always been concerned over what Dodge offered for automatics and drove a 6.5 GMC Yukon to nearly 260k miles with the engine and transmission still intact, but always preferred Mopar and the 68RFE automatic tipped the scale.

More power than I need but first full tank of fuel on a long trip yielded 17.8 mpg calculated, commuting with some stop and go has yielded 15.7 mpg (calculated).

 

This one was tough for me, I have not even had a remote hiccup or problem, I love the truck so far, but I have buddies that have 5.9 liters and they get better mileage and have more fun in the aftermarket right now. Come on smarty!!!!! So I say 6.7 because of the potential that is out there

 

I own 6.7 already for 3 months and my fuel mileage sucks. Went back and bought a 5.9 and getting 5 more mpg.

 

68RFE & exhaust brake are waaaaay nice. My fuel economy is down 3.0 to 3.5 mpg vs. my 2003 RAM 2500 w/305*555; I traded up to a one ton & MegaCab so it's a decent trade off. I'm at 8,400 miles so I have hopes it'll get better. Best two hand calculated tanks were 15.89 mpg and 15.72 mpg. Pulls like the Polar Express stock.

My vote is for the 5.9. The EGR and dpf on the 6.7 is causing the motor to be unnecessarily inefficient and is costing me at least $1,000 a year more then my 5.9 for additional fuel.
Several trips to the dealer for check engine lights and turbo replacement are inconvenient and make long trips apprehensive. How much is this motor going to cost when the warranty expires?
Can not feel good driving a clean air vehicle when most everyone else is not and are not required to do so.
Oil companies and dpf manufactures are the only beneficiaries of the new 6.7.

 

EGR/air pollution system have been the only problems so far. Less fuel mileage than my 04.5/5.9L. More power than the 5.9L plus the 68re make it a no brainer. Since I use the trucks for work, racking up close to 150k miles per year, there is NO going back to older technology.

 

I bought the new truck (6.7) for capability and towing. That's what it is primarily used for although not that often. So, I'm lucky that the mpg penalty is not that bad considering the overall low miles. No problems with the truck so I'm still in love with it. Even my buddies with Ford and Chevy diesels marvel at my super clean tailpipe!!!

 

No problems yet, just wish my mpg was a little better. Still love it!
