lots of ppl have had the turbo replaced for the 2263, but i had read (cant remember if it were here or not) that dodge put the turbos on restricted list b/c its supposively a software issue that should make your turbo magically have boost again lol .... i think it will fix some but not all

just got my truck back from dealership w/new turbo installed to fix 2262 code, only 20 miles so far, so far so good
first impression is: the new turbo sounds different at idle, i had a guy tell me my exhaust brake was on at idle... doesnt make that real low idle sound anymore... also the exhaust brake is not as strong as it was before
will update as necessary...

You should never turn the exhaust brake off unless you are in slick road conditions. Leaving it on keeps the shaft the turbo slides on from gumming up. Straight from a techs mouth this morning. He asked me if I left it on, I told him I never shut it off and he said that was probably why I haven't had any problems. 70,000 miles and all is well.

Heard the turbo does a lot of work off of the ECM (computer controlled) which could cause the codes and also from DC to keep the exhaust brake on all times... Go figure.. Did not see it in the manual..
Hope this helps....

you guys think we could make the switch work backwards? one of you electrical wizards tear your dash apart, figure it out & tell me how to do it..
i want the switch on the dash to turn the EB OFF... otherwise always stay in the on position

2262 Codes?
New to the site but have the same problems . I've had my 07' 2500 6.7 into the dealer three times and have a open work order now. The first time I took it in they did the flash. Didn't last two days. The second time they had the truck for a week and had the Cummins engineers come out and look.. The Cummins guys said their working on new software and they may have to replace the DPF, Catalytic coverter, and O2 sensors. This was three weeks ago. I call every week and tell them that my emissions light has come on again. They still do not have a fix. I have the 2262, 2000, and 245E codes coming on. Anyone had these problems in Detroit? Need to take it to another dealer that has dealt with this. Thanks.

Ok, I'm an industrial electrician, but the switch problem sounds simple. If you take the wire that is having power switched onto it, and run that to the coil on a relay, just one of those cheap little headlight relays with a normaly closed contact, then run the power for your exhaust brake through that, it will always be on until you hit the switch. So the button powers the coil to open the contact rather than directly turning on the brake. I have no idea what is behind that switch in the dash because the 5.9 doesn't have a stock exhaust but it should be fairly straight forward. Hope thats not too confusing.
