2008 bully dog?
I saw a 2008 today on a rig that was a company mans and he said that it had a bully dog programmer on it i didnt want to call his bluff bc i wasnt sure. so is there truth to this or not. thanks worm .
Sure, I've got a Bully Dog Power Pup on my '08. I just use it to correct my speedometer but have played with the tow and performance settings a bit. It's been out for a while now. Bully Dog also has the PMT (Performance Management Tool) out for the '08. The Triple Dog isn't available for the 6.7L however and there is no crazy larry tune for the 6.7L yet.

Depends on if your idea of better mileage corresponds with the EVIC or with hand calculations. Here is the same trip, 3 different times, with the stock, tow, and performance settings:
EVIC:
Stock: 17.5
Tow: 18.5
Performance: 19.7
Hand Calculated:
Stock: 17.3
Tow: 16.8
Performance: 16.1
Side Notes:
*When the Pup is on the Tow setting, there really isn't nearly as much timing rattle as people say there is. There is noticeably more on the Performance setting, but not enough to justify worrying over it.
*When the Pup is on the Tow setting, I get the p2000 MIL code about every 500 miles. The first time I took the Pup off and went to the dealership and they cleaned the O2 sensor and sent me on my merry little way. 500 miles later (all on the Tow setting) it was back. This time, I put the Stock setting back into the truck (still with speedo correction, though) and just cleared the code. It hasn't been back in the past 900 miles or so.
*I have the latest version, V2.1.5, as it is the only one I can run with my AO flash without getting warning messages when loading the Pup programs. I got it directly from Buddy Kunz as it was not available for download yet on the Bully Dog webpage. It may be now, however, as my Update Agent keeps telling me to plug in my Power Pup for updates.
*These are all my personal experiences with the Power Pup and may not necessarily correspond with the majority of users. Maybe my truck just doesn't like being modified.
