2004 6.7
Now before you guys get carried away with the contradicting comments let me explain. I have an 04 new holland tractor that comes in at 115 hp and has a cummins 6.7. Now my point is that not only does this engine not have the fancy egr stuff that prevents us from tuning but it has a mechanical injection pump. So if some of you rich guys want to play with your new trucks why not take a look at trying that pump on your trucks. Just an idea

If I remember correctly, the ag 6.7's used the VE rotary pump as found on the first gens. You would actually be taking a step back in terms of efficiency vs. the common rail. IMO, you would be better suited by the common rail from a performance standpoint.

The Ag 6.7 doesnt share the same bore /stroke as the one in the pickups,it is different.
From what i've heard the 6.7 ISB uses a bored out block from the 5.9, hence some people are worried about the longevity and expansion issues of the new 6.7L. If that is different somebody will chime in.

I spoke with a Cummins rep today at a local diesel shop on this very issue. The 6.7 ISB is a totally new engine, and it has not been put into anything but a Dodge truck (soon Ford 650 and 750).
And for the block - The 6.7 block is patterned after the current 5.9 block but has been beefed up a lot in the block skirts (around the crank area) and with the "married" or "siamese" piston bores. The Cummins rep couldn't remember the exact weight difference between the 5.9 and 6.7 blocks, but did say that it is at least 80 pounds.
Now - I also talked with him about why the C&C is only rated at 305/610 while the 6.7 coming in the PU's are rated at 350/650. He looked up the engine family on the Cummins websight to see if the two are in the same engine family and they are, the only thing that he could find that "MAY" be different is the turbos. He did say that he was looking at the Cummins ISB line of engines, that the 5.9 and 6.7 fall into, but that they are meant for commercial use not automotive use. Having said that, he thinks the only big difference between the two HP ratings is ECM calibration and maybe injectors. Hope this helps.
