That's what I'm talking about. IMO a Heavy Duty truck should at least see 200k miles before you have to start rebuilding it!! Especially when they're asking over $50k to get into it!!

I thought Dodge got a handle on the crappy U-joints they were putting in these "Heavy-Duty" trucks and were using a better joint, or at least making sure they had some grease in them from the factory. Nope!! Left front started clicking and when removed was bone dry. Saw the right front starting to rust so I'm having both of them replaced @ 126k miles. Using NAPA joints this time. Hopefully they will fare better.
Wonder what's next, the driveshaft joints?? Wheel bearing hubs??
your front ball joints are probably needing replacing to, if you have not done it yet.

Gentlemen, you're missing the point of greaseless u-joints and not 'neverseizing' the hubs etc. It's not the extra cost of a greaseable vs greaseless.
When things wear out, Dodge makes money, plain and simple. Tell me they can't make a truck last 500k without driveline issues with today's technology? Nobody makes money from a truck that doesn't break down. They're thieves, and there's no two ways about it. And when you get sick of fixing the 4 yr old truck? You buy a new one....from Dodge, or maybe you switch to Ford, who, in turn, has a customer switching to Dodge for the same reason.

If Dodge had done the job it would've cost me at least $1,400.00. All because DC wants to save a couple bucks by putting non-servicable U-joints in their "Heavy Duty" trucks. Doesn't really seem like a bargain now does it?? NAPA's greasables are $87.00 bucks retail. So just how much is DC saving by putting in crappy non-greasables?? And their loyal business customer having to shell out that kind of cash to fix them right?? I mean they do advertise these trucks as workhorses right??
Umm if this discount garage you are using tells you they have to beat of 1 year old hubs. I would seriously think about not going back to this discount garage again. All you have to is jam a piece of wood in there and turn the wheel with a couple of lug nuts spun on lightly and hub pops off. I mean a garage should know how to fix the front end right???? I mean they are a truck repair shop right???

FYI I just did my ujoint in hub yesterday. Insert board turn wheel and it popped off

And since you are Hotshotter why dont you buy Ford PSD now and compare down time and repair costs plus fuel costs.
