09 exhaust brake

Do all the new trucks have the exhaust brake? My cousing has an 09 auto and we arent sure if it has one. If it does... where is it and how do you activate it? Thanks.. The truck is all stock.

It should have one. There is a button down by the cup holders which fold down. Looks like a little puff of air. Push it and get it a whirl.

This is his first diesel. He didnt want a diesel. We talked him into it. I think his salesman did a bad job of explaining everything to him. I told him about this site. I'm sure he will learn alot.

I would also suggest that you read the owners manual. There is a lot of information on the features of his new truck and how to operate the Cummins diesel. One item is the grid heaters and how they operate, since you and he are in NE. Need to read the book only takes a few minutes and will worth the effort.

Not many Dealership salespeople know much about what they are trying to sell. I had to "educate" the salesguy I bought my truck through. I wouldn't expect many of them to give the buyer "good" information about the features of these trucks.

Agreed. They are more the rumour mill than anything else. The manual is pretty good though and if you have some time, browse it specifically for the engine stuff and the EVIC display.

The dealers told me this new fangled Asian transmission fixed all the auto problems..
