Will be taking my Cooper stt's off pretty soon

I got about 40k on them and getting worn. I will not be putting them back on. Cannot get them to balance well and we balance every 6 months. Truck always pulls no matter how many times we rotate. Traction on these tires is amazing compared to anything I have ever used. Snow, mud whatever. I finally am coming to the conclusion that my driving is done on blacktop and I am getting older. I am thinking about a set of revo's or firestone at's. Something less aggressive and maybe easier to balance. For you guys wanting max traction the stt may be the way to go. Great looking tire. Wore pretty well. I should get about 45k before they are taken off. My buddy put toyos on his truck the same month and just took them off with 25k on them as they are bald. He is a tire dealer so they were well taken care of.

There might be a recall on this tires. Check befor buying anything, it might save you some dough.

The best all around tire I'v ever used is the Michelin LTX M/S. Smooth and quiet on dry pavement. Traction like a tracked vehicle on snow and ice. Easily last 60K miles. There's a new version out this year that looks even better.

My STTs are holding balance, with no issues. I wonder if you got some out of a bad run or something? They do grab on and will dig you to China. They do seem to be wearing well, I want to go with 285’s next time but these have lots of life left.

I will be glad when their off. They do look awesome but some weeks I put on quite a few miles and the shaking gets old.

I have been running Toyo ATs (285/75) for the last 15k. They still have well over half tread left, and they ride smooth as can be. They handled the winter here really good, never had any traction problems. This is one of the better tires I have run, just have to wait and see on the mileage I get.

I saw where BFG is supposed to have a 285/75 AT now in the 17" size. I had good luck with these in the past.

I'd like to check out the STT's...

I didn't like the Michelin LTX M/S at all. I found them very poor in snow and mud. They are a street tire. Any time we'd get more than 8" of snow the LTX would have to wait for the roads to be plowed.

BFG has a 285-70-17 E rated out now.

I was THIS close to going with them ya know... A bit narrower and I think the width of my 305's helped create death wobble.

But I went with Nitto and so far I like them a lot. One wheel balanced with no weights, and the others have very little weight. My BFG's used so many weights they were looking for places to put them. I thought they'd charge extra for all the lead.....

Im currently running 35" STT and I love em! they do wear a bit quick (i'll be lucky to see 30k) but they are so much quieter than the toyo's and they are the best tire for non black top conditiosn the toyos got stuck in 8 inches of snow.... the STT's have never failed me

The stt's off of the road are amazing. I have never had a truck go through what this one will but most of my driving is still on blacktop. Maybe I am just getting older I don't know.

After having the 285/75, I wouldn't want the 285/70. I think it's perfect for a stock 4x.

I have the STT's and they are a great traction tires in the snow and have better grip on slick roads after I had them siped. Have you looked at the Copper ATR's? I have an Uncle that has them on his GMC 4x4 1500 and is very happy with them.
