Cooper Stt's + Daily Driver
Its coming up on that time to purchase a new set of tires..........I know there isnt a whole lot out there in the E loaded range with out breaking the bank-----(gee what ever happened to the days where you could buy a set of 33x12.50x15's and walk out mounted and balanced for under $600 BUCKS ???) :- Looking at coopers........anyone out there care to comment on your coopers ? Of course they will get their exercise on the weekends down at the ranch, but for the most part seeing asphalt.

I ran two sets of 285/70/17 on my 03 2500 and had very good luck with them. I drive alot of gravel and highway and they last fairly good. I would have put some on my new truck but they were back ordered!

STT's look great but they are for those that are mainly offroad. I have S/T's and they are wearing like Iron under alot of abuse. I expect to get 90k miles out of them and I was drag racing them all summer and towing heavy up to 38k combined for 10's of thousands of miles. Like Dan said ....rotate frequently as they will scallop on the front as all agressive tires will. I rotated mine every 5 to 7 k but more frequently would be better. Pressure is really important to. With the 265's I run 50 to 65 in the front and 45 to 80 in the back ....obviously the higher the pressure when loaded towing and lowest when empty. ks

I was considering the ST's also, but I dont think they come in a 285 ? Could be wrong. Would like to see pics or touch and feel if I can find a dealer here locally. I like the STT being a true 33" tire and load rating of 3100 lbs---although I might chicken out if I see the up close, may be to agressive for me ? Im just concerned about handling. I put a set of wrangler m/t's on my other dodge and going from the stock michelins it was night and day. They seemed to "wander" at highway speeds.

When I first had mine put on I noticed they did wander a bit more than my mud terrains I had, however it seem after I got a few miles on them they firmed up. I like how the handle. I have hauled my slide in camper and 24' boat at the same time and they did really well. IMO. I have always ran m/t's tho

I have the Dicovery STT in 305 70 16's. I love the look of the side walls they ride great, mine only lasted about 25k though. I keep them inflated to 55psi, I don't know. For the price they are hard to beat.
